Following is a list of some of the symbols I frequently use and their meanings.

Animals -
Totemism, myth, constellations and ceremonials!!! Animals are everywhere a large part of the picture. Heavy in symbology, rich in abundance, human and animal worlds intersect at all levels. Here are some animals I frequently use in my work and what they have been thought to mean.

Bears represent renewal and understanding. With regard to hibernation it is believed that bears are able to go within, to make the long sleep, using the time to understand reality thru dreamtime. Bears are seen as strong and always just. Amulet ER#6, Copper Domes, Red Jasper

Birds represent joy! Glad hearts and honest song! They have been symbols of the departed soul and messengers from heaven. Birds have been the givers of omens and enlightenment. Amulet Necklace #1, Right Charm, Red Tiger’s Eye, Bloodstone

Horses with or without wings, symbolize the soul journey. Homepage Horse Buckle, Carnelian, Azurite, Peridot

Dogs were companions of the Goddess in many capacities and incarnations and in many cultures. They still are loyal companions. Dogs are believed to have the ability to see ghosts. Dogs guard! Homepage Aztec Bracelet, Carnelian

Turtles represent security, sanctuary. In Japan, the world- supporting tortoise was the symbol of eternal life and human longevity. Turtles represent the earth. Amulet ER#9, Red Tiger’s Eye

Fish are considered an aphrodisiac food in some parts of the world still today. Some believe fish can teach us determination, perseverance, depth, knowledge, generosity, strength, and sexuality.

Rabbits teach us cunning, listening, speed, intuition and not to fear going outside our boundaries.

Cats have been sacred thru history! Visionaries, familiars, independent and unbelievably cruel, cats like to keep you guessing.

Rams have represented the most popular animal incarnation of the phallic god all over the world. Rams symbolize virility and passion. Homepage, Aztec Bracelet

Other Symbols

Bear Paws or any feet represent individuality. The coolest thing I think of with bear paws is that they can leave two, not four. Bears can stand on two legs like you, and walk for short distances. Amulet ER#11, Carnelian

Arrowheads, or arrows, have been the instruments of death in order to summon new life in many a legend. The arrowheads of Artemis represented control. An arrowhead means a directive or direction. Amulet ER #3, Lapis Lazuli

Double-bar Cross is a symbol for the dragonfly! The dragonfly as its name implies is a nimble predator both as an adult and nymph. It is also incredibly beautiful in colors, conformation and movement. Amulet ER#7, Peridot

Spirals have been sacred since Neolithic Europe. Spirals are connected with the idea of death and rebirth and earth energy. In some Native American traditions they represent water, emerging paths or progression to the next level. Amulet ER #10

Metal Domes represent the sky, heaven, and in some cases the moon and sun. Amulet ER#12

Hearts are......well.......deep in your heart you know what I mean! Your heart is a treasure chest. That is where your valuables are kept! Homepage Heart Pin, Carnelian

Hands are a healing symbol. Time, another healing symbol, can be described as the “Healing Hands of Time”. Hands also symbolize victory. Amulet ER #5

Eyes are representative of wisdom. They are the windows through which your soul can be read.

Arches in the ancient world represented the yoni, and signified entrances and exits, doorways, portals, thresholds and the passing through to better luck! Pins & Pendants #6, Carnelian, Sugilite

Stars have been regarded as angels, living entities, legendary heroes, souls of the dead. The morning star is identified with the Goddess. Baby Rocks ER #7, Lapis

Goddess figures represent fertility, love, acceptance, guidance, abundance, creative power and idealized humanity. Amulet ER #12
